Two Tsinghua SEM Students Named 30 under 30 Asia by Forbes

In February,Forbeshas released its Asia-based "30 Under 30" lists, comprising 300 of Asia's "brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers" categorized in 10 industries. Two students from Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM) have made it to the prestigious list under the Social Entrepreneurs category.

Tsinghua SEM MiM (Master in Management) student WANG Zi co-founded Ricedonate, an innovative charity platform where users who wants to raise money for a charitable cause can crowdfund donations for their exemplary behavior (like calling your parents or working out). So far, Ricedonate has raised $570,000 charity funds for over 500 charity organizations, impacting over 2 million lives.

Tsinghua SEM EMBA student SHEN Peng founded Shui Di Hu Zhu, a site that, similar to an insurance crowdfunding platform, helps patients crowdfund their medical bills. Patients can receive a maximum donation of $43,000 on the site and the company works with local hospitals as well as government agencies to verify patient information before putting them online. Last year, Shui Di Hu Zhu raised $7 million in angel funding from investors including IDG and Meituan.

Forbesreceived more than 1,200 submissions for the prestigious list. The criteria for honorees making the list included leadership and disruption in their field; entrepreneurial mind-set and results; and the likelihood of changing their field over the next half-century.Forbeswill hold its second annual “Under 30 Summit Asia” in Manila on July 25, 2017.
