Soon after he entered the university, he recognized that his classmates were all top students from different regions in China. Many of them ranked No. 1 in the college entrance exam in their provinces. Some even were enrolled by Tsinghua without exam because they were top winners in national academic competitions. Excellent as they were, CAO has confidence in himself. “They entered the top college because they are good at study. But this does not equal to success.” In Tsinghua, he did not study as hard as the high school years, but tried many different areas to develop a full skill set. “Dynamic system analysis and control, data structure, insurance theory, investment… Over the four years of undergraduate study, the economics and management knowledge is important, but the more beneficial are the campus life and student activities.” CAO established a Chinese-language debate team for the international students, organized New Year party for international students, participated in summer holiday research projects, and visited Kuby Desert in Inner Mongolia to combat the desertification.
