Harvard Business School Publishing Releases Chinese Cases

Harvard Business School Publishing (HBSP) has included into Harvard case materials eight cases submitted by the China Business Case Center of SEM. The publishing of the cases is a significant step for the internationalized case presentation of Tsinghua SEM.

The eight cases (with their product numbers at HBSP) are: UFIDA (A) (TU0007-PDF-ENG), UFIDA (B) (TU0009-PDF-ENG), UFIDA (C) (U0011-PDF-ENG), UFIDA (D) (TU0013-PDF-ENG), UFIDA (E) (TU0015-PDF-ENG), Beyondsoft Co., Ltd. (A) (TU0001-PDF-ENG), Juner New Materials: On the Road to IPO (TU0003-PDF-ENG), Kingdee (TU0005-PDF-ENG). All above cases can be found athttp://hbsp.harvard.edu.

The cases are expected to be used in MBA, EMBA and other management education courses.

The cases were developed by: Tsinghua University Guest Professor F. Warren McFarlan, Co-Director of the China Business Center, Former Senior Associate Dean of Harvard Business School; Professor YANG Bin and Professor LI Donghong at the Department of Business Strategy and Policy; Professor HE Ping at the Department of Finance; Professor ZHANG Jin at the Department of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior; Professor XIA Donglin and Professor JIA Ning at the Department of Accounting.

Tsinghua SEM is the first business school on the Chinese mainland that has reached a cooperative agreement with HBSP and has its cases released online through HBSP’s website.

With the Chinese economic boom attracting increasing attention from all over the world, foreign business schools have a substantial need for more cases about business operations in China. Tsinghua SEM will continue with its efforts in case development to satisfy such need, and to try to spread the influence of Chinese business practice.
