At the beginning of the new year, Dean QIAN Yingyi paid visits to seven SEM Advisory Board members in the U.S..

The Board members visited included John L. Thornton, Chairman of the SEM Advisory Board, John J. Mack, Chairman and CEO of Morgan Stanley, Vikram Pandit, CEO of Citigroup, Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Steven A. Denning, Chairman of General Atlantic LLC, Lloyd C. Blankfein, Chairman and CEO of the Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., David M. Rubenstein, Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Carlyle Group.

During each visit, Dean QIAN Yingyi reviewed the progress of the School in the past year, and discussed the plans for the year to come. He said, as the Dean of SEM, it is his responsibility to carry out the advices put forward on the annual Advisory Board meeting and see to further faculty, education, as well as academic development.

Dean QIAN Yingyi also welcomed more support from the Board members. According to him, the School plans to build its own strength effectively under the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Tsinghua University.
