On March 25, 2011, Tsinghua SEM held the first of the Tsinghua Eminent Entrepreneur Lectures, which featured GUO Guangchang, Chairman of Fosun International Limited.

The lecture series invites innovative leading business figures to talk to students, sharing their entrepreneurship experience and life reflections.

The lecture given by GUO Guangchang was themed “Entrepreneurship and Life.” He reviewed how he started his business, explained his management ideas, and shared other observations on life experience as well.

Dean QIAN Yingyi delivered an opening speech. He said, with the School committed “to advance knowledge and cultivate leaders for China and the world,” we attach equal importance to theories and practice. Tsinghua Eminent Entrepreneurs Lectures intend to highlight two aspects in business practice: entrepreneurs and the spirit of entrepreneurship.

GUO Guangchang made three points in his speech. He said, Fosun’s success benefits from making proper investments with proper timing, working in a specialized industry with a specialist team, and aiming to connect with the capital market. He also shared his envision of Fosun’s development in terms of investment, internationalization, eco-health and cultural-economic revitalization.

Students participated in the lecture with curiosity and enthusiasm. In the Q&A session, they teamed up to raise questions.
