Tsinghua EMBA held a set of events in Chengdu to support the economic development in the Southwest region.
Guests exchanged ideas in the faculty forum
The events, including a press conference, a Tsinghua SEM faculty forum and an evening gathering of investors, are part of a grander scheme where the EMBA Program of Tsinghua SEM plans a series of events to support economic development in various regions of China. In future events, the Program will integrate alumni and corporate resources, conduct interactive researches with local governments, as well as introduce EMBA alumni into local business arena.
HUANG Xiaoxiang, Vice Governor of Sichuan Province
In a speech delivered before the faculty forum in Chengdu, HUANG Xiaoxiang, Vice Governor of Sichuan Province, suggested three possible ways of collaboration for Tsinghua University and Sichuan Province: to conduct long-term cooperation in specific areas such as decision-making consulting, financial services, corporate management, marketing and human resources development; to establish platforms of talents development, including seminars, research projects and lectures; to invite more EMBA entrepreneurs to locate business opportunities in Sichuan and contribute investments.
Professor LI Daokui of SEM
In the keynote speech of the forum, Professor LI Daokui of SEM explored chances and challenges for Chinese entrepreneurs in the next decade. He said, the development of the Southwestern economic region, being a strategic move for China in the post-crisis era, has two implications: the first is to substantially enhance the domestic demand of China, and the second is to pioneer with the economic mode that boosts growth via the increase of domestic demand and the development of urban regions.
