The Career Development Center and student career club launched a “BUDDY Project” that links senior and younger students in an attempt to boost the job-seeking capability of the latter.

A launching ceremony was held to announce the start of the project in November 2010.

In the project, each career coach, normally an older student at SEM, takes one to two younger student as “buddies”, helping them plan the career path, improving their job hunting strategies and skills.

Since the project opened registration at the beginning of the fall semester, about 150 students have signed up as coaches or buddies. Currently, the designation of coaches has been decided within each program of the School.

At the launching ceremony, WU Dan, YAO Zhipeng, ZHANG Chen and several other student coaches shared their experiences of career planning, internship and job hunting.

Present at the ceremony were also Professor HE Ping of the Department of Finance, who reviewed his own career path, and discussed the ideal-reality dilemma with audience students.
