Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) have signed a Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement that aims to foster co-operation between the two business schools today in Beijing. The Agreement was signed by Professor QIAN Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua SEM and Professor Leonard Cheng, Dean of HKUST Business School at Tsinghua SEM.

Under the Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement, Tsinghua SEM and HKUST Business School agree to establish a long-term co-operation relationship between both institutions. They agree to collaborate in areas including: strengthening cooperation in academic research and faculty exchange, pursuing joint initiatives in postgraduate studies, and establishing a “Business and Management Research Institute”. Both parties will also actively explore collaboration in other areas.
Professor QIAN Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua SEM, said at the signing ceremony: “As the top business schools on the Chinese mainland and in Hong Kong, Tsinghua SEM and HKUST Business School have made a significant step in their cooperation under the Agreement. I believe the joint efforts under the partnership will substantially enhance the research and teaching capabilities of both schools and further raise their academic standards.”
Professor Leonard Cheng, Dean of HKUST Business School, said: “The signing of the Agreement marks an important milestone in strengthening co-operation between Tsinghua SEM and HKUST Business School. It reflects our joint commitment to promoting excellence in business education and academic research. The alliance combines the unique strengths of the two top business schools in Asia and that will benefit students in Hong Kong and on the Chinese mainland as well as in the Asian region.”
