SEM, HEC Paris and IFM co-held a Sino-French Fashion & Luxury Forum in Shanghai. Professor XUE Lei, Director of the Executive Development Program (EDP), and Frédéric Beraha, CEO of Global Talent Enterprises Limited, both spoke at the forum.
Present at the forum were over 100 senior managers and professionals from the fashion and luxury industry in China.
Leo Lui, President of Hermes China, and LU Xiaoming, Managing Director of Mont Blanc China, discussed the strategies of luxury enterprises in China. Leo Lui explained Hermes’ history, its integration of Chinese culture, and demonstrated Hermes’ success with intriguing cases. LU Xiaoming focused on the potential of brand building, stressing the importance of knowing local culture and consumption patterns.
JIN Weichen, executive chairman of JCDecaux China, and HUANG Zhen, General Manager of Herborist, an alumnus of the Advanced Management Program in Fashion & Luxury, talked about strategies of luxury products in Expo 2010 and the luxury industry’s international move.
According to Professor XUE Lei, the forum is only the first of a series of fashion forums and saloons planned by SEM. The School aims to strengthen the bonds between the academia and the industry by forging platforms of communication for senior professionals in the fashion industry home and abroad.
