According to Dean QIAN Yingyi, amongst the 108 2010 graduates there are 48 international students from 11 different countries. The students’ diversity in backgrounds and experience has added important strengths to the IMBA Program which aims to combine China roots with global vision.

Professor WANG Jiang from the MIT Sloan School of Management offered congratulations to IMBA graduates, and wished them greater achievements in future career.

The ceremony also featured a guest speaker: Jack Perkowski, Founder and Managing Partner of JFP Holdings, who reminded students that China has seen amazing development over the past thirty years, and urged the graduates to remain flexible, open, and to keep on learning. In addition, the audience was also inspired by talks from successful alumni. Mr. Max JOHNSON, a 2009 IMBA Student, Business Development Manager at China/CIS, Wogen Metal Commercial (Shanghai) Ltd. Beijing Branch, summarized the skills he acquired at Tsinghua SEM and affirmed the importance of the IMBA program in his career development.

Faculty and guests on the ceremony

On behalf of the graduating class, Mr. Marshall Roslyn, a 2010 IMBA graduate, thanked the School and its faculty for their support and guidance throughout the course. He reflected upon the fact that the year 2010 was in between two significant occasions: the 60thanniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and the 100thanniversary of Tsinghua University. While the graduating students would each go on to face different challenges in their new careers, the IMBA and Tsinghua experience would continue to be an important anchor in their professional and personal lives.

The ceremony proceeded on to the conferment of certificates. Professor WANG Jiang and Professor GAO Jian, Assistant Dean of Tsinghua SEM, handed out the MIT Sloan certificates and Tsinghua degrees respectively. In closing of the event, Professor GAO Xudong, Director of the MBA Program, encouraged students to continue to cherish the principles of integrity and trust in becoming future effective business and social leaders.
