Tsinghua EMBA Alumni Affairs Meeting took place at Beijing International Convention Center on January 16. Present at the meeting were Professor LIAO Li, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM and Director of the EMBA Program, Dr. WANG Yong, Executive Vice Director of the EMBA Program, and more than 70 alumni representatives from more than twenty provinces and municipalities across China.
On the meeting, three existing alumni associations from Liaoning, Shanxi and Sichuan reported about their work in 2009, and shared their experiences with the audience. The alumni associations in Heilongjiang, Hunan, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Tianjin and Yunnan re-elected their council members.
As part of the event, Fujian Alumni Association was established. This is the 26thalumni association of Tsinghua EMBA Program since the Liaoning Alumni Association was launched in 2004. Through past five years, the associations have been making continuous contributions to the communication among alumni, the promotion of Tsinghua EMBA Program, and the building of a life-long learning platform.
Professor LIAO Li delivered a speech, congratulating on the achievements of the EMBA program. He also pointed out challenges ahead: 32 institutes were newly approved to provide EMBA programs, which means that the competition regarding enrollment, brand building and the quality of education will be fiercer than ever. Therefore, alumni associations are expected to play more important roles in helping the program in its pursuit of excellence.
