The New Year party of Tsinghua SEM Tsinghua EMBA Program was held at Beijing International Convention Center on January 16. Audience at the party were faculty and staff from the School, twelve EMBA 2008-2009 classes, participants of Tsinghua-INSEAD Dual Degree EMBA Program andTsinghua EMBA-Citigroup ScholarshipMediaTraining Program, Tsinghua EMBA Sinology Research Group, representatives from alumni association branches and alumni from previous classes. The total number amounted to more than 1,500.

The theme for the party was “2010: To the Future.” The year 2010 will be a prelude to the 100^thanniversary of the founding of Tsinghua University, therefore very special. At the party, students stored a postcard and a bucket of wine. They planned to gather again on the same day in ten years, when the wine will be unsealed and memories refreshed.

Dean QIAN Yingyi

The party is preceded by EMBA students’ “red carpet show,” and began with a speech from Dean Professor QIAN Yingyi, who congratulated the EMBA Program for its achievements in 2009.

After the speech, representatives from 26 local alumni associations came onto the stage to greet the audience. Then the “2009 Best Tsinghua EMBA Alumni Association Award” and “2009 Tsinghua EMBA Outstanding Contributor Award” were conferred by Dean QIAN Yingyi and Senior Associate Dean YANG Bin. 32 professors teaching in EMBA modules received the “2009 Tsinghua EMBA Excellent Teacher Award.”

Students celebrated in the party with various shows. The theme of the party was brought up when the 2008E class presented their poem “2010: To the Future.” The lines were imbued with both their attachments to Tsinghua and confidence for the future.
