Four Tsinghua SEM students from the Finance Department have won the Beijing Division championship in the 2009-2010 Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Global Investment Research Challenge on December 13. They will be going into the Asia-Pacific level competition as the China team next March with Fudan University team, the champion of Shanghai Division.

This is the fourth CFA Global Investment Research Challenge in its history, and it is the first time for CFA to include China in this annual competition.

The four students are JIN Zhao, JI Lin, ZHU Ye and SHAO Xiaoqi. Professor HUANG Zhangkai from Tsinghua SEM’s Finance Department and Dr. XIAO Hanping, a securities analyst from China Jianyin Investment Securities, served as their supervisors. The challenge contest final was broadcasted by CCTV. All participants have to use English as their exclusive working language.

Before Beijing Division’s final competition, Tsinghua SEM team firstly took part in the preliminary contest on November 15, and went into the final with other two teams from Peking University and the Central University of Finance and Economics.
