The third Tsinghua SEM MBA Alumni Mentorship Program started off on December 13. 188 Tsinghua SEM alumni have become mentors for 390 current MBA students. Alumni mentors will be giving suggestions for younger students in terms of academic studies, career and personal development.
First initiated in December 2007, the Program aims to provide current students with supports from excellent alumni, offering them a platform of exchange with business elites. Younger students are expected to learn from those mentors and at the same time expand their network.
Professor GAO Jian, Assistant Dean of Tsinghua SEM, spoke at the start-off ceremony. He welcomed the alumni joining the Program. Professor GAO Xudong, Director of Tsinghua MBA Center, made an introduction of new developments in the MBA program and the ongoing “Plan Capable”.
ZHU Hong, a 1993 MBA alumnus and a representative of mentors from the second Alumni Mentorship Program, Manager of the Sales Department in GF Securities, talked about her own experience of the Program. She said, sharing with students, learning from each other, could contribute to one’s personal integrity, and it’s also great fun. As a mentor, she has been frequently exchanging ideas on socio-economic issues with students, which led to both clashes and fusion of thoughts.
After the talk, ZHU Hong passed the program’s token torch to ZHOU Wei, a 1995 MBA alumnus and the new representative of mentors. He is now the Deputy Director of the Work Committee for Offices Directly under the CCCPC and the Director of Logistics Service Bureau.
