The first Chinese MBA Program in Finance celebrated its tenth anniversary on December 19. More than 500 alumni from the program's 2000-2009 classes met in Beijing for the event.

The MBA Program in Finance is co-held by Tsinghua University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. It was initiated in 1999 and began recruiting students in 2000. It was among the first international collaborative programs approved by the State Council of China, and the first financial MBA program available in the Asia-Pacific region. During past ten years, more than 1,000 financial specialists have graduated from the program.

Professor XIE Weihe, Vice President of Tsinghua University, and Professor XU Jingwen, Vice President of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, joined the celebration and each delivered a speech. More than 100 students were awarded "Elite Award," "New Business Talent Award" and "Outstanding Contribution Award" on the celebration ceremony.

Professor XIE Weihe and Professor XU Jingwen also awarded a special "Distinct Collective Contribution Award" to MBA students in 2007 Beijing Class, 2006 Beijing Class and 2007 Shenzhen Class for their efforts in the re-construction after 5.12 earthquake in Sichuan. Those students made five visits to the stricken area after the earthquake and conducted several education-related projects. What's more, the financial MBA alumni are planning to establish a "Tsinghua University-The Chinese University of Hong Kong MBA in Finance Fund," aiming to offer continuous help to those in need.
