Tsinghua SEM’s first graduate New Year party took place in Meng Minwei Building on December 25. Over 300 graduate students spent the evening at the party, celebrating the turning of the year.

This party was proposed by Professor QIAN Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua SEM. It is widely supported by Senior Associate Dean YANG Bin, Associate Dean ZHU Yan and Associate Dean ZHAO Dongqing, and carried out by the School’s Graduate Union. The party is intended to be a display of students’ talents, and a channel of communication among current graduates

WU Xiaofeng, Director of the Graduate Office under Tsinghua University’s Party Committee, spoke at the party. According to him, this is the first New Year Party specially held for graduate students in Tsinghua University.

Professor QIAN Yingyi also addressed the party. He extended his New Year greetings to Tsinghua SEM’s graduates.

Since all seats were fully occupied, many students stood in the aisles until the end of the party. In addition to students’ show, some professors also joined their students on the stage, bringing joy and laughter to the audience.
