Chinese Women's Entrepreneurial Management Program Launched in Tsinghua

Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management has announced the launching of Chinese Women's Entrepreneurial Management Program on March 2, 2009. The first class of the program will be opened in May. Courses will be taught to 50 participants by faculty members from Tsinghua SEM and HEC-Paris.

“I believe this program will promote Chinese women’s participation in economic and social activities and play a positive role in helping women enhance their entrepreneurial capacity, especially under the circumstance of today’s global financial crisis,” said Chen Zhili, President of All China Women's Federation in her congratulation letter to Tsinghua SEM.

The program was sponsored by Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women initiative, which will train underserved Chinese women who aspire to or currently operate their own business, aiming to provide them with the integrated entrepreneurial and managerial education with a global perspective. The Women's Entrepreneurial Management Program, which will run for five years, will include workshops, seminars, classroom teaching, mentoring and guidance in the producing business plans. Curriculum will focus on business practices in entrepreneurship, marketing, management, and finance.

“The Entrepreneurial Management course is the first cooperation between Tsinghua SEM and HEC-Paris in this field; it has innovation and reform in the teaching mode, method and contents,” said Professor Qian Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua SEM.Jean-Paul Larcon, Senior Associate Dean of HEC-Paris said he was delighted to see HEC-Paris to join theChinese Women's Entrepreneurial Management Program in partnership with Tsinghua SEM.

The Chinese women's entrepreneurship forum was held on the same day, under the theme of "Women entrepreneurs: challenges, opportunities and development."
