The seventh Tsinghua SEM Doctoral Students Academic Forum was held during November 1-2, 2008, with 81 doctoral students participating in the forum. 12 graduate students and 10 undergraduates were invited to attend the forum and took part in relevant academic discussions.

Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM Zhu Yan, Assistant Dean Qian Xiaojun, SEM faculty members Li Daokui, Wen Yi, Wang Yihua, David Robb, Zhang Jin and professor at Department of Economics of Renmin University of China Sun Wenkai, who is also SEM alumni attended the opening ceremony of the forum.

The forum comprised two parts: lectures and academic paper reports. During the forum, 117 papers were submitted by doctoral students, out of which 116 were accepted; 47 were read at the forum. The paper-report part of the forum was divided into eight panels, with topics on economy, finance, management science, technological economy and corporate management, etc..

Dean Qian Yingyi, Associate Dean Zhu Yan, Professor Li Zinai, who’s also Chairman of Tsinghua University Degree Qualification Committee-Economics & Management Field attended the closing ceremony held on November, 2. Associate Dean Zhu Yan and Professor Li Zinai conferred certificates to doctoral students who won the Excellent Academic Paper Award at the forum.
