A delegation consisting of 19 undergraduates from Walton Business School, U.S. has paid a one-day visit to Tsinghua SEM on May 22, 2008. Around 20 students from Tsinghua SEM participated in the communication activity. At the welcome session, representatives from the two schools introduced to the participants about the historical background and current development of their schools. Founded as the first U.S. business school in 1881, Wharton Business School has been driving change in business education and research ever since. The School enjoys high reputation in economics-related majors and management education.
Accompanied by their Tsinghua partners, Walton students toured Tsinghua campus after the welcome session. Student from two countries also participated in a "negotiation game" during the activity. Students of the two sides had an in-depth discussion over academic questions through the mimic of producer's decision-making process and the marketing model in a competing market.Students of the two schools took photos together in front of the Weilun Building before the conclusion of communication.
Tsinghua SEM has been attaching great importance to cultivating students' global vision. The School has partnered with world leading business schools, including MIT Sloan School of Management, Harvard Business School, INSEAD, HEC School of Management (France) and Graduate School of Business of Stanford University, for faculty development, collaborative academic and research programs as well as student exchange programs.
