On June 10, 2008, the Chinese Business Strategy and Development Forum was held at Tsinghua SEM to commemorate the 30th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up policy. The forum was organized by the Department of Business Strategy and Policy. Government officials from NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission) and the Development Research Center of the State Council and professors at Tsinghua SEM held a discussion over the current macro-economic situation in China and business strategy reform. The forum was seen by more than 150 people including SEM faculty members, students, representatives from media and senior professionals from business community.

Professor Wei Jie and Associate Professor Wu Weiku from the Department of Business Strategy and Policy presided at the Forum. In their discussion, participants fully recognized the achievements China has made in aspects like economic development, system reform, enterprise growth and studies on business strategy management theories since China adopted reform and opening-up policy 30 years ago, meanwhile participants also expressed their concerns over Chinese future macro-economic situation and the enterprise growth and have put forward relevant solutions to possible problems facing China.

Participants attended the forum discussion included Director of Department of Economic System Reform of NDRC Dr. Kong Jingyuan, Director of the Research Department of Marco-economy of Development Research Center of the State Council Yu Bin,Secretary General of Chinese Entrepreneur Survey System Li Lan; and Professor Wei Jie, Professor Ning Xiangdong, Professor Wang Yihua, and Professor Jin Zhanming from the Department of Business Strategy and Policy of Tsinghua SEM, etc..
