54 business elites from across the globe have been admitted to the Senior Executive Program for China after strict selection by Tsinghua SEM, China-Europe International Business School (CEIBS), and Harvard Business School (HBS). It was the third intake of the program since it was launched in 2006. The opening ceremony of the program was held at Tsinghua SEM on June 15, 2008, attended by Executive Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM Professor Chen Guoqing, Faculty co-chair of CEIBS Senior Executive Program for China Professor Zhou Dongsheng, Faculty cochair of HBS Senior Executive Program for China Professor Felix Oberholzer-Gee, and some of the program faculty from Tsinghua SEM Xia Donglin, Wang Gao and Xie Bin. Director of Tsinghua SEM EDP Center Xue Lei hosted the ceremony.
The Senior Executive Program for China is developed and taught by the best faculty from Tsinghua SEM, China-Europe International Business School (CEIBS), and Harvard Business School (HBS), like renowned Chinese economist Professor Li Daokui, Professor of HBS Robert S. Kaplan, the author ofThe Balanced Scorecard: Translating Strategy Into Action.Faculty members for the program are distinguished academicians, skilled educators, groundbreaking researchers, award-winning authors, and experienced entrepreneurs in their respective fields.The program adopts the case teaching method, with new Chinese corporate cases developed by the three schools particularly for the program included, like China Commerce Bank Case, Lining Company Case and Digital China Case.
The Program for China is designed for an elite group of senior executives in Chinese state-owned and private companies, as well as in multinational companies with operations in China, across a wide range of industries and functions. It provides the opportunity for executives to step back from day-to-day responsibilities in order to acquire the integrated knowledge and global perspective required to successfully lead their organizations. The program includes three modules which are held in Beijing, Shanghai, and Boston respectively.
The 54 participants of the third class of the program are all from the decision-making level of their companies, including senior executives from renowned domestic and multinational companies like Sinopec, Shenzhen Press Group, Softbank (Hong Kong), Sompo Japan Insurance Inc(China), Marykay(China), Kia Motors(Switzerland), Deloitte & Touche, etc. The participants are from countries and regions including China (the mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), the United States, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, France, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea, with industries covering energy, transport, real estate, investment & finance, food, cosmetics, manufacturing industry, service industry, IT, and media, etc.
After the opening ceremony, the participants took photos together in front of the Weilun Building. After this, participants will begin their courses for the first module at Tsinghua. The Shanghai module and the Boston module will be held in October and December respectively.
