More than 300 Tsinghua SEM EDP (Executive Development Program) participants have been made generous donations to quake-hit areas in Sichuan. Four Classes of SEM EDP have organized several donation campaigns during the week after the devastating earthquake. By May 20, the donation by EDP current participants has reached a total of 115,080 RMB. The 18th Class of Senior Manager Program, the 61th Class of Business Administration Program and the 9th Class of Manager Development Program have donated 95,080 RMB, which will be conveyed to the quake-hit areas by the University, and the 19th Class in Senior Manager Program has donated 20,000 RMB to the Red Cross Society of China for quake aid in Sichuan.
The 1st and 2nd Classes of Tsinghua-NDRC Middle-and-small-sized Enterprises Program has raised 258,888 RMB through charity auction last December, which was donated to China Youth Development Foundation for teacher-training plan of the Hope Project in Sichuan. Considering the situation of quake-affected areas in Sichuan, donators decided to use the fund to rebuild the primary schools in local areas in hopes of helping students there to resume their interrupted studies as soon as possible.
In addition, the 117th CEO Class consisting of 45 participants will organize money donation in recent days. And their class activities in the second half of the year will focus on orphan adoption and assisting college students from quake-hit areas.
