During March 27-29, 2008, the Annual Conference of the Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship was held at Tsinghua SEM. Co-organized by the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Research Center for Technology Innovation and the National Entrepreneurship Research Center, the conference brings together more than 100 scholars in the area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship from 17 countries and regions including the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherland, Kuwait, South Korea, etc..At the opening ceremony, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, Professor Yang Bin deliveredan address. Professor Garth Saloner from Stanford University, U.S. made a keynote speech at the conference. Chair of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Professor Gao Jian presided over the opening ceremony.

The Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference（AIE）provides an open platform to bring together scholars worldwide to present research and to stimulate discussions on new developments in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The four-day conference has four panels, with 21 keynote speeches. Topics of the sessions covers 14 areas including innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities, innovation of middle-and-small-sized enterprises, service innovation, organizational growth, college students entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship environment and policy, entrepreneurial strategy and business model, new business creation process, entrepreneurial finance, international entrepreneurship, corporate venture, technology-based venturing, patenting and licensing management, and innovation clusters and science park, etc..
