During the past half year since July, 2007, nearly 100 SEM students went toZhenhuaPrimary Schoolto be volunteer teachers. The activity was launched by Tsinghua Redbud Volunteer Team-SEM branch. SEM students brought eager pupils courses of music, fine arts and general Olympic information each Thursday afternoon. Student body ofZhenhua Primary School consists of migrant workers' children in Beijing, and it took the volunteers more than one hour to get to the school from Tsinghua, which isnear to rural areas of Changping District of Beijing.On December 1, more than 30 students fromZhenhuaPrimary Schoolwere invited to visitTsinghuaUniversity.

During the past half year, SEM students also donated money and goods with a total value of over RMB 5000 to the children. Particularly,the second-year students earned a profit of RMB 1500 by the means of campus marketing and donated all the money to the school for building ping pong tables.
