On Dec.29 2007, the “Tsinghua Alumni Mentorship Program” opening ceremony was conducted inTsinghuaZiguanInternationalCommunicationCenter. Prof. YANG Bing, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, Prof. TONG Yunhuan, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, Prof. QIAN Xiaojun, Assistant Dean of Tsinghua SEM were present and gave the opening addresses. The ceremony was seen by over 100 Participants who were Tsinghua SEM professors, alumni MBA students, and representatives fromalumni office and MBA Programs. They witnessed this great moment together. Until now, we had 91 MBA Mentor Volunteers and received 248 applicants from 2007 MBA students including 17 international students. MAO Donghui, Executive Director of MBA Programs presided over the ceremony.

Mr. Tong Zhilei kindly expressed his honor of being invited to join this program as a mentor; Additionally he called on other alumni to contribute for Tsinghua MBA program’s future.

The Tsinghua MBA Alumni Mentorship Program has made great periodic achievements after 2 months’ of preparation. The past 2007 was a very fruitful year for Tsinghua SEM, and we believe 2008 will be better.

During the “Tsinghua Alumni Mentorship Program” opening ceremony, we are much honored to interview 2 alumni.

Mr. Sun Wenhai was 2002 alumni, working in VC industry after the graduation. He is one of the most active supporters of AMP ever since the program initiated. He himself alone accepted 6 mentee. When asked about his opinion on this Alumni Mentorship Program, he said it’s a very good opportunity for alumni to enhance communication, and promote alumni resources. This program is a golden chance for alumni to give something back toMotherUniversity. In addition, he offered a lot of valuable suggestions to AMP.

In the other table, 2000 International alumni Ning Liqun and Zhang li gladly accepted our interview invitation. Confirming the importance of conducting this AMP program, Mrs. Ning also emphasized the significance for Mentee to actively participate in the project. She was working for PE, and it usually took her half semester to complete a project, hence why she really hoped those mentee could put themselves into the project whole heartily. It might be time consuming, but it surely would deepen mentee’s understanding on PE business which won’t be learned in the classroom. Same as Mr. Sun Wenhai, Mrs Zhangli was also very happy to part of the program. Even though this time she only accepted one mentee because of the tight schedule and limited mutual understanding, she said she would be glad to accept more as time goes by.

Our alumni’s passion and frankly suggestion really encouraged us and we also have a firm belief that with the alumni’s support the AMP project would surely have a great future.
