Tsinghua SEM has held an open day for the School's Advanced Management Program in Fashion and Luxury on January 19, 2008. During the activity,Jean-No?lKapferer, Professor of Marketing at HEC Paris, Graduate School of Management delivered a lecture to more than 30 senior managers from garment, jewelry, fur, real estate, fashion, media and investment industries and 40 current participants of the program.
In the lecture, Professor Kapferer told students stories behind luxury brands, citing cases of LV、Chanel、CK、Gucci、Hermes、MontBlanc Chivras, etc.. After the lecture, Professor Kapferer presented his book to every participants at the lecture.
Jean-No?lKapferer is an internationally recognized authority on brands and brand management. A professor of marketing strategy at HEC Graduate School of Management in France, he holds a PhD from Northwestern University (USA) and is an active consultant to many European and US corporations . He is the author of six books, including the international best sellerNew Strategic Brand Management,andReinventing the Brand.
Tsinghua SEM, Institut Fran?ais de la Mode (IFM), and HEC-Paris have jointly developed an Advanced Management Program in Fashion and Luxury in 2006. Held once each year, the Advanced Management Program in Fashion and Luxury aims to prepare senior managers for the challenges in the rapidly evolving Chinese fashion and luxury markets. As the first of its kind in China, the program has graduated two classes respectively in 2006 and 2007.
