The award ceremony of 2007 Tsinghua University Scholarship for Economics and Management (Dow Chemical) was held at Tsinghua SEM onDecember 11, 2007. Six representatives from Dow Chemical headed by the Director of Dow Chemical Asia Pacific R&D Technology Ms Theresa Kotanchek attended the ceremony. Zhu Hengyuan, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, Pan Qingzhong, Director of Tsinghua SEM Alumni and Development Office were present at the ceremony.
Six SEM students received Dow Chemical Scholarship this year. They are Wang Bo (Economics04), Wang Xin (Economics04), Zhu Ye (Economics06), Bin Dingkun (MBA 06), Wang Haijiang (MBA 06), and Tong Chao (MBA 06).
Ms Kotanchek made an address at the ceremony. She expressed appreciation for close cooperation between Dow and Tsinghua. Ms Kotanchek also talked about the company’s historical development, products areas, global strategy, and its business philosophy. Later, Wang Xin, student of SEM made a presentation on behalf of the award receivers.
Tsinghua Dow Chemical Scholarship Program was formally launched in 2005; the scholarship program has been expanding since then. And ties between Tsinghua and Dow are becoming closer in recent years.
