Children at Tianxin Houde Primary School inAnyuan County of Jiangxi Provincenow have more spacious classrooms as a new school building, donated by Shenzhen Alumni of Tsinghua SEM Executive Development Program was completed on December 9, 2007.

The 456-square-meter building cost RMB 210,000; construction started in July 2007. The donation was part of the aid program initiated by EDP Shenzhen Alumni onMay 14, 2007, which aims to provide financial assistance to one primary school each year inChina’s poverty-stricken areas. Shenzhen EDP alumni called for donation of a new school building to students at Houde primary schoolAnyuanCountyof EastChina’s Jiang Xi Province after their investigation in summer. By December 8, a donation of RMB 219,054.33 was raised.

Xue Lei, Director of Tsinghua SEM EDP Center, Tian Xiaoguo, Supervisor of EDP Shenzhen Office and some alumni representatives attended the ceremony to mark the building completion. In addition, representatives from the EDP alumni donated desks, books, stationeries, and sports equipments to the school.
