A delegation from Citigroup, led by the company’s Asia Pacific CEO Robert Morse visited Tsinghua SEM onOctober, 9, 2007. Professor Qian Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua SEM held talks with the visiting guests from Citigroup.
Tsinghua SEM and Citigroup have kept friendly cooperate ties for a long time. In 1999, Citigroup has made a donation to Tsinghua SEM to establish the Citibank Economics & Management Scholarship aiming to support the undergraduates of second-year or above, the graduates and freshmen with excellent academic records in the entrance exam. Morse said it was an honor for Citigroup to award scholarship to the best students from across the country;and Citigroup is willing to continue such support, adding that he’s also expecting more extensive cooperation with Tsinghua SEM on graduates recruitment, students exchanges, and students internship at the company’s agencies inHong KongandNew York. Dean Qianyingyi expressed thanks to Citigroup for their long-term support to Tsinghua SEM, saying he would like to see closer cooperation with such a world leading financial agency on financial research and the School’s faculty development.

After the talks, Mr. Morse had a dialogue with some of students who received Citibank scholarship. The student shared their opinions on career plan and presented their suggestions on Citigroup’s students’ internship program. Later, Citigroup hosted an information session, giving SEM students an detailed introduction on the company and its human resource strategy.
