The annul meeting of Board of Dean’s Advisors of Harvard Business School was held during May10-11, 2007. Prof.Qian Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua SEM attended the meetingas the member of the Board.
Comprised of the alumni and friends of HBS, the Board of Dean's Advisors provides HBS with strategic consultations and suggestions. Members of the Board are mostly distinguished alumni of HBS from business. The attendees of this year's meeting included John Whitehead, former Deputy Secretary of State of U.S. and former Chairman of the Goldman Sachs,Jamie Dimon, CEO of J.P. Morgan Chase,Alan Lafley, CEO of Procter & Gamble, Steven Scharzman, CEO of Blackstone, Bob Scully, Co-president of Morgan Stanley, Rajat Gupta, managing director of Mckinsey, Ann Moore, CEO of Time, Inc, Elaine L. Chao, U.S. Secretary of Labor ,etc..
The Board meeting of this year focused on the MBA education, and discussed three issues of HBS MBA strategy, skills needed in the next 10 years and the relevance of the MBA degree. The Board members also discussed the arrangements for the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of HBS in October 2008.
Dean Qian Yingyi was invited to be on the Board of Dean's Advisors of Harvard Business School earlier this year, with the tenure from 2007-2010. Qian is the only member from Chinese Mainland on the Board.
