Tsinghua SEM will launch an international program in Economics and Finance (including Insurance track) for undergraduates as part of the School's effort in speeding its internationalization process. As of the year 2007, Tsinghua SEM will enroll undergraduates in two areas respectively: Economics and Finance (including Issuance track, international class), and Business Administration (including Accounting and Information Management & Systems). All the students with these two majors need to finish their pre-requisite courses in the first two years of undergraduate study before they can focus on their specific areas which include Economics and Finance, Accounting, Information Management & Systems.
The international program of Economics and Finance, which is to be the spotlight of Tsinghua SEM undergraduate program, is dedicated to cultivating high-quality talents who possess a good knowledge ofChina's reality meanwhile have global vision and are competent for serving at a variety of social sectors. The students are expected to build a solid foundation for theories and mythologies of economics and finance meanwhile have skills to work out practical solutions. During their undergraduate study, students will enjoy more opportunities to study abroad as exchange students. Part of the courses in the program will be taught in English. Most of the professors in the program have experience of studying or teaching abroad. Several special-term professors from distinguished overseas research universities will also teach for the program.
