ChinaCenterfor Financial Research of Tsinghua University has opened access to China Financial Research Database System (Tsinghua Financial Data, THFD ) onApril 23, 2007. The first batch of the databases opened includes Equity Database, Open-listed Company Database and Index Database. The data can be inquired and downloaded from the websitehttp://thfd.sem.tsinghua.edu.cn.

The database system is established and maintained byChinaCenterfor Financial Research,TsinghuaUniversity, aiming to provide researchers worldwide with free access to compliant and reliable data onChinafinance via the internet. CCFR started the building of the database system in 2003, and accomplished the data designing and data collecting work for the Equity Database, Fixed-income Database, Funds Database, Open-listed Company Database, and Index Database after three-year efforts. The quality of the database was further enhanced as some of the important data was cleaned completely. Since open to Tsinghua SEM faculty and students on a trial basisin January, 2007, the new system saw records of data- inquiry reaching over 4800 times so far, download reaching over 3500 times. Tsinghua SEM faculty and students have put forward pertinent suggestions to the improvement of the database system.
