“Taste Afternoon Tea with Dean” jointly organized by Dean’s Office and Students’ Association of Tsinghua SEM was conducted at the Coffee Hall of Weilun Building on the afternoon of November 9.
Qian Yingyi, Dean of Tsinghua SEM, Chen Zhangwu, Associate Dean, and Zhu Hengyuan, Associate Dean, had a conversation with more than 30 undergraduate students as student representatives in a cheerful atmosphere. Also, Qian Xiaojun, Assistant Dean, Zhu Yujie, Director of Teaching Office, and Chen Xuefen, Director in Dean’s Office, attended the activity.
Along with different questions and puzzles, students of various grades and majors had a deep talk with school’s leaders and teachers present. One of the most significant topics is “Global Vision, Local Passion”.
In the activity, Dean Qian put emphasis on English-taught program. He said it was one unavoidable road for the school to reach the goal of internationalization, and school will spare no pain to make it, enhancing the proportion of English –taught classes.
Students expressed more interest in the international exchange program, and for this Dean Qian said, “School will strive to increase the proportion of international exchange among undergraduate students, and have more student touch education of B-schools overseas and conduct better the internationalization.”
Students put forward some questions they are interested in such as attitude of economics study, the gap between students from home and abroad, credit hour calculation, communication with MBAs and EMBAs, etc., and all of which gained answers from teachers in attendance. Besides, student addresses quite a lot of useful suggestions on school’s construction, which were applauded by teachers.
At last, Dean Qian expected Tsinghua undergraduate students to bear the quality of global vision and local passion, have high taste and improve self continuously.
After the gathering, student and school’s leaders took a group picture and had dinner together.
