On June 26, the publication seminar of Policy Research on How to Accelerate National Service Industry, delegated by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) was held at Tsinghua SEM.

Mr. Ou Xinqian, Vice Director of NDRC, gave very high opinion to Tsinghua SEM's research result and quality in representation of NDRC. He argues Tsinghua SEM research team shows many innovative ideas in their research strategy, methodology and overall framework, which lays a very solid foundation for further studies and analysis.

Professor He, Dean of SEM commented in his remarks, "Service industry is a strategic sector for our national economic development. Tsinghua SEM is always willing and ready to contribute its intellectual support to our national economic development and strategic policy making."

In order to pinpoint the problems embedded in the development of our national service industry, and to lay out relevant strategies for its future development, three research institutions, Tsinghua SEM, National Academy of Social Sciences and National Development and Reform Commission joint hands in this one-year-long policy research effort. Tsinghua SEM established its own research team and through comparing statistics from 104 countries with input-output method, it offers an overall strategy for the future development of our national service industry.
