Dou Yifan, an associate professor at Fudan University School of Management, was appointed Associate Editor ofInformation Systems Research, a top journal in the field of information systems. Dou received his bachelor's degree in 2003 and doctorate in 2007 at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (SEM). He is the first associate editor of the journal who obtained his PhD degree from a university in the Chinese mainland.

While a student at Tsinghua University, Dou won the Excellent Doctoral Graduate Award and Excellent PhD Thesis Award. Today, he works in the Department of Information Management and Information Systems at School of Management, Fudan University, where his research area covers E-business, platform business models and the economics of information goods. He has 5 publications as the lead or co-author in the top-tier journals, with the media coverages byHarvard Business Review,The Standardand21st Century Business Herald. His 2013Information Systems Researchpaper was the first by a scholar who received PhD from a university in the Chinese mainland. Dou won the Emeritus Service Award of Management Science in 2015 and 2019 and currently serves as one of three board members in the Information systems society at the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences. His research was supported by the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2018.
The journal ofInformation Systems Researchwas launched in 1990 by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences and recognized as one of the top two journals in the area of information management. Its 2020 impact factor was 5.207, and the 5-year impact factor is 6.888.
